Emerson's newest thing to do is stand. He loves to climb up on things and hold on so he can stand. Because of this, we hear a lot of bonks and crying. Hopefully soon he will learn his balance. His favorite things to climb up on are Mommy and Daddy's legs, our HUGE body pillow, the laundry basket, and Daddy's laptop case (as you can see in the following pictures). I think that these pictures put into perspective how little he is. He is such a sweet little guy. Now he just needs to stop growing so fast :)
I think that this next picture is the cutest little face that he gets other than his full out smile. This is the face he usually gets when he is talking.

Lately...
Jason decided that it was time to take the bumpers off Emery's bed. This has been an interesting adventure for us. We lose the pacifer every night. We hear bunks all the time when Emerson is trying to fall asleep because he moves around his crib so much and bangs his head. And then there are times like in this picture that we find him stuck between the slats. When he gets stuck he never cries. He just sits there until we come and find him that way. We have been feeding Emerson some veggies and fruits the past week. This has been fun, but frustrating at the same time. He is such a good eater...pickiness wise...and he really wants to eat. But he CAN NOT keep it in his mouth. This drives me crazy!!! I used to baby sit a little girl that was perfectly clean when she ate from day 1. Now I have a mess! I always wait to feed him until I am ready to give him a bath. I also usually have to have Jason come and hold his arms down so he doesn't get his hands all through it.
Of the puréed foods, we have fed him peas, carrot, and pruns. We think that he has liked carrots the most.
Today I went to my ward play group...where no one showed up except one other girl that was leaving when I got there. So, I decided to take some pictures of Emerson swinging. He loved the swing. He is still so little for it. But he just sits forward and swings away.

Six Months...
Happy Half Birthday!!!! Emerson's half birthday winds up to be on my birthday. I think that is pretty fun.
We went to the doctor today, so we have the latest stats on Emerson:
Weight: 16 lbs 7 oz (29%)
Height: 26.5 in (50%)

It is hard not to be totally in love with this kid. He is really the sweetest boy that I could have ever dreamed of! Here are some of the things going on with him at his half year:
- Wears size 2 diapers
- In 3-6 month clothes
- Does an "Emery crawl"--see video to follow. And can now REALLY get moving.
- Is starting to want to climb up onto things.
- Is totally bottle fed
- Loves to talk. He is starting to squawk a lot.
- Met Great Grandma Bills
- Has bluish hazel eyes
- Rolls both ways but still prefers back to belly.
- Has eaten solids!!! Mainly Oatmeal, but has tried Cantelope and Grapes.
- Sleep the whole night. Usually falls asleep with Mommy though.
- Loves his Mommy and Daddy!
Here are some videos from this month:

Birthday
For my birthday this weekend we went to the OMSI, a science museum here in Portland. It was a lot of fun after we found it. I didn't get any pictures of me on my birthday, but I did get some of Emerson! This is one of his new faces. It think that it is super cute!
After going to the OMSI, Jason and I went to Outback. I got the yummy cheese fries probably for the last time for a while because my family is having a weight loss compitition and I want some hope of winning.
I didn't get any presents on my birthday, but since then I have gotten the 50 mm camera lens, the last two books in the Twilight series, and some $$$ (in the form of a gift card and cash).

The threat is coming...
On Sunday night, Emerson started to get up on his hands and knees and started rocking back and forth. He is so cute when he does it. He is just so little. He is so strong and determined that we think that it will be soon that he starts crawling...SCARY!!! So, what does that mean for us now: Babyproofing, not being able to leave him alone, and just waiting so we can see him crawl for the first time. He is already able to scoot around a little, but not a full out crawl yet. We will just have to wait for that...if Jason and I have anything to do about that it will still be a WHILE until that happens. But I think that Emerson is determined to be able to move. So, now we will just have to wait and hope that nothing gets destroyed while we aren't watching one time.
A Bumbo Cover Giveaway...
Okay...look how cute this is. I found it over at Etsy at Boutique Sweet Cheeks store.
They are doing a giveaway for one over at this blog. I think that they are such a great idea...especially if you buy a used bumbo or have the wrong color for the gender you have!
