I'm it...

Amy tagged me. I have to list 16 things about yourself, goals, dislikes, or whatever. So here goes...

  1. I have the sweetest little baby boy that any mom can ask for.
  2. I have had so many more and stronger cravings nursing than when I was pregnant. I would have never thought that. It is mainly nachos and rice crispy treats.
  3. I love to sew. It is so much fun starting something as a peice of fabric and turning it into something useful. I think that quilts are my favorite way of fulfilling this.
  4. I make nursing covers and sell them.
  5. I hate when dinner time comes because it means that I have to think of what to eat. I have recently started to hate food (except for the things that I crave) making it a lot harder to have the desire to choice meals.
  6. My husband just got a promotion, so I am wanting to spend more money now. I shouldn't though because we are wanting to save up for paying cash on a van.
  7. We own a house that we bought for more than my parents just sold their house for in Georgia and it is half the size.
  8. I would eat at Outback every night if I had my way. Yummy cheese fries and broccoli.
  9. I love being crafty. I love making cards, scrapbook pages, and painting. I remember back in Young Women's when everyone complained about the crafty projects, but I always loved it.
  10. I am a cub scout bears den leader. I have been wanting to be done with this for MONTHS and they can't find anyone to say that they will do it. So, I am really getting to know what it is like to be around 9 year old boys...talk about insanity.
  11. I want to go on an Alaskan cruise so bad. We are trying to find a time that we can go before Emerson gets to old to want to take with us.
  12. I love shopping for Emerson. I get stressed out shopping for myself, but Emerson I love shopping for.
  13. I hate buying shoes. They cost to much and I don't like most styles of shoes. So I just wait until Emily is sick of a pair that I like, then I take them and wear them for the next 5 years.
  14. I was 5 pounds under my prepregnancy weight after I had Emerson. I only gained 10 pounds my whole pregnancy. Best weight loss plan ever for me :)
  15. I get extremely motion sick extremely fast. Pretty much anytime I am in the back seat I get sick and I get sick in the front if the drive is any longer than an hour.
  16. I love my husband and son so much. I couldn't ask for anyone better to be in my little family.

I am going to tag...everyone on my side bar and anyone else who reads this blog that has a blog. Let me know when you do it...I want to read about all of you :)

Visiting New York

On Thursday, we left Jason behind for a week and headed out to New York, so Emerson could meet Grandpa Bush and Aunt Olivia.
Emerson did great on the airplane. He slept most of the time. He loves being held and on the plane I had to hold him nonstop. He loved that!
We had a layover in Atlanta. He slept the whole time. I got to see Stone Mountain and the city in the air. I miss it there so much.
It snowed over night. Emerson loved looking out the window at all the white.
And here is the reason for this trip. Emerson sleeping on Grandpa Bush.

One Month

Yesterday, my little man turned one month. I can't believe that he has been in our lives for a month. He had been such a joy in our lives. He didn't really like taking pictures, but here are some from one month.

Thank you Grandma and Grandpa...

Here are pictures of the cute shirt you gave me. My mom is giving me tons of hugs for you. I love you and wish that you can be giving me hugs yourself!

Love, Emerson.

Weight Check...

We went to the doctor again today to get Emerson's weight checked. At first he didn't gain enough weight, so they wanted me to feed more often and see if my milk is enough for him. So on Friday, we went in and got his weight checked again. He had gained 12 oz...in a week! We asked if we could not wake him up at night anymore and have him just eat when he wants to. They said lets do that for a few days and see if his weight still goes up as much and if not then we have to wake him up again. So at the appointment today his weight was up to 8 lbs. 12 oz. Another 7 ozs. in 4 days!!! I can't believe that he is more than a pound over his birth weight. I think that it is showing and it makes me sad that my baby is growing so fast. Howevert the plus side to it is Jason and I get to sleep through the night unless Emery wakes up hungry!!! No more waking Emerson up and stressing about him falling to sleep in the middle of a feeding!

Here are some pictures of my little Emerson. I need to get as many as I can before he starts growing much more.
One to end...A classic I am done and get that camera out of my face shot!

Picture Day

Since Emerson was born I have taken almost 1000 pictures of him already. About a quarter of those were in a "photo shoot" I did this afternoon just after a feeding. He was just so adoreable. So I grabbed my camera and started shooting. I took about 300 today, so narrowing down my "favorites" was a challenge. So here are my favorites...

He loves to have his hands next to his face.

More feet pictures. I just love how they turn out.
This is one of my best buys. I love having a vibrating chair. Emerson just loves it. He will sit in it for hours if I let him. It is awesome for when I need to go take a shower. I have put one on all the levels of my house so I always have somewhere to put him if I need to.
This is one of our favorite faces Emery makes. He does it just before he yawns. I haven't been able to capture a picture yet where his lips are the tightest "o" they can go, but for now this will do.
I think that Emerson has the cutest profile.
I hope that was a good dose of seeing Emerson for all of you. I will try to get more pictures soon. I can't say daily...but I will shoot for weekly :)

Rubba dub dub...Emery is in the tub

Yesterday we gave Emerson his first submerging bath. He did pretty good. He did have his screaming times, but most the time he was pretty content with it all.
It is all over...time to wink and say it was "okay"

2 weeks old...

I can't believe that Emerson is already 2 weeks old, but then again it seems like we have had him forever. He is looking older everyday. I had heard that before and always thought that there is no way that a baby can look a little different daily, but now that I see it...I believe it.

Here are some pictures that I took of Emery on Wednesday. Since then his umbilical cord has fallen off!!!

We went to Emerson's first doctor's appointment yesterday. The doctor thought that he was very healthy and loved how content he is.

Here are his latest stats at 2 weeks:

weight: 7 lbs 9 oz
length: 20.5 in

He is back to his birth weight, but I guess that he should be more than that now. So, the doctor's are having me feed every 2-3 hours. I feel like that is all that I am doing now. I guess no more long amounts (4 hours at a time) of sleep at once...at least not for the next couple of weeks or so.
