Service Auction

We had a great turn out for the service auction last night. I think that it was the best turn out that we have had since I became the Enrichment Leader.

It turned out to be an awesome activity! Talk about a lot of fun. We got to know each other's talents and what people wish their talents were. Some of those items went for A LOT!

I ended up getting FHE treats for the month of October and a Jewelry making tutorial. Funny story of how I got the tutorial. I was keeping record and by the end there were 3 more people to get things and only 1 more thing. So we were trying to figure out where the extra one went. One lady realized that she got an extra, so a girl decided to throw in an extra jewelry making tutorial. We didn't know where the last one went until we realized that I totally forgot to put in my cards! I felt so bad. So we finished up the auction and I couldn't win my own cards, so I won the tutorial instead! I was super excited because I was totally out bid on the tutorial previously.

I was too busy through out the night to get any pictures. I wish that I got at least one of Jason auctioning. He really made it awesome. But, here are some of a couple of the center pieces for the tables. (Yes I did copy Emily on the fabric cake.)

Cards for Service Auction

Next week for Enrichment, we are going to be having a service auction. I am super excited for it. I think that it is going to be a fun way to see what other ladies in the ward can do.

I decided for the auction to make 24 Christmas cards. So, for the past couple of days I have been cutting and glueing. Then today, I put them all together. I think that they turned out pretty cute. Now I am trying to figure out how to make a cute box to hold them. We will see if I end up getting to that.
Who knows, this might be the design that I do for my christmas cards this year. I really like them (maybe I will just bid on my own service).

Window Watching

One of Emerson's new favorite pass times is to watch the birds and cars out the window. It is the first thing that he does when he wakes up and he does it frequently through out the day.

Today, however, it was for a different reason that he was watching out the window. The Hillsboro Air Show is going on today and when the planes fly any where near, they totally shake our house. Emerson just had to know what was going on, so we went to the window and looked for all the planes. He did see a couple of them and he thought that it was awesome. We might just have to go up closer to the airport for tomorrow's show, so he can see all the planes. He would LOVE that.

Camp Fires and Ocean Water

Last weekend, we went on out Ward Campout at the Beach. It was a lot of fun. It was Emerson's first time camping and going to the beach. Needless to say he had a BLAST! I have never seen that child as dirty as I saw him this weekend. It was terribly disgusting.
He thought that it would be fun to lick the dirt...
I don't think that he liked it.
He loved the beach until the cold Oregon Coast waters hit his little feet. Then he was plenty happy playing just in the sand.
We can't wait for the next camp out and our next outing to the beach.

Nusery Time!

Today was Emerson's first official day of Nursery. He did great! He did not care that Jason nor I was there with him. In fact he couldn't get away from us quick enough.

Right after sacrament meeting, Emerson disappeared. Jason and I started to look for him in all his usual spots, but he wasn't anywhere to be found. So we started looking in classrooms to see if he followed some kid into their class. We, then, got to the door of what is to be his nursery and there he was standing in there, already playing. We asked the teacher if he let him in and he told us that Emerson was all alone in there when he got there. Who knows how he got into the room and how he knew that was were he was supposed to be. He is just too smart!

I helped throw my friend, Heather, a baby shower last night. It was a lot of fun to throw. I think that it turned out to be a lot of fun, and the food was AWESOME!

Congrats Heather! Adelyn is adoreable!

Bubbles

Before dinner last night, we went out and blew some bubbles. Emerson LOVED LOVED LOVED it. He chased them all around. He even tried to blow some of his own (that concept ws a little over him though). It is amazing how such a simple things as bubbles makes a child so happy. We might have to make this a weekly tradition...until the weather doesn't allow it anymore.

Kissing Prayer

Last night during our dinner prayer, I was holding Emerson and Jason was saying the prayer. In the middle of it, Emerson decided that he wanted to kiss, so he starts kissing the air. Then all of the sudden he kissed me, then again, theen again. I started laughing because it was too cute, all while Jason is still praying. Then Emerson went over to Jason and kissed him too. It was so adoreable. I love that Emerson is kissing now. There is nothing better than a Emerson kiss.

Portland Children's Museum

One of my college roommates, Amanda, came into town this week. So we decided that we needed to get together at least once while she was here. We decided that the best place for us to go was the Children's Museum, so the kids can play while we caught up. It was a lot of fun. Emerson just LOVED being able to play and run wild. We ended up getting a membership, so Emerson can go play all the time.
